Layers and layers of fabric. Stitched, melted and gathered to form a colourful, everlasting  posy.
Sounds simple doesn't it?

Machine Wrapped Chord

Just pulled this out of the archives. A while ago I had a fettish for machine wrapped chords. I did this with two or more strips of fabric twisted togethor and zigzagged with a large stitch. These come in handy for  giftwrapping, wraps for journals or any decorative ideas you can think of.  A fancy thread on the machine helps in the embellishment of the chord.  You could also add beads or other bits and  pieces.  Its all about using your imagination.   This one needs  to be finished.

Waitaki Boys High School Prizegiving 2010

Leavers performing for an appreciative audience.

Our youngest son receiving his award from the Rector.

Waitaki Boys Hall of Memories was filled with pupils, family and friends for the senior prizegiving of 2010. The atmosphere in this building is amazing. It is not only a very attractive Oamaru stone building but it really is a 'hall of memories.' Flags from many countries are on display along the walls. Plaques with lists of old boys who lost their lives in war time. Also there are lists of names who have been prominent in New Zealands history.
For our family this was our final prizegiving. Our youngest son has completed his final year of study at this school.
We were absolutely delighted to celebrate this prizegiving in particular as he was honoured by being dux of the school.

Go Waitaki !
