Thankyou for visiting my blog.
I love having visitors and your comments are especially
appreciated.
This blog party is an idea of Vicki at
A little bit about myself...
I live in the South Island of New Zealand. I enjoy gardening, especially when the roses are in full bloom. The scent, colour and variety are a delight to me.
With four grown children our empty nest suddenly comes alive again when our Grandchildren visit.
We have six and we love their visits, bringing with them the 'joy of life.'
I work with the elderly in a local rest home. This is voluntary work helping with art and crafts and
other activities. I love this and feel that I receive more than I give and have lots of laugh as well.
I love the photograpy side of blogging as well. I am self taught and am not great at it, but I sure
enjoy playing and having a lot enjoyment and a few surpises too!

I reckon it is truly very beautiful. Hugs Judy

ReplyDeleteJoan, I LOVE your hearts! ALL OF THEM! But I am trying to be independent of my children...isn't THAT a funny change!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be included in your giveaway, your art reminds me of one of my beautiful sister's art...
I love your mother's singer Sewing Machine, aren't those fun to use? I have one as well! and I would love to learn how to do felting. I love my flowers too, but that is not one of my strong points...I am excited to see more on your blog, thanks for coming by mine!

Hi Joan,
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to meet you. I see you are all the way in New Zealand! I'm a gal who likes crafting too. I'm still making my way through visiting everyone from Vicki's Grow Your Blog party. I hope you will stop by to say hello.
Hi Joan. I love the header image! Lovely pile of lushesness. Oh, I love roses too. Last year I bought seven new ones and I'm a sucker for trying to save every poor abused rose in mid summer from those horrible stores...like Wal-Mart...who have no business having roses for sale anyway. My most favorite ones are yellow roses, like the relatively new Julia Childs, because they were my grandfather's favorites. I have a saved rose in my garden in England which starts off yellow and then turns pink. It's the most amazing rose int he world. I keep toying with the idea of smuggling a few slips to my Vancouver garden and propagating it here although I know it's a great big no no to do that and I could get in serious trouble. But I've just never seen its like here in Canada. Hmmm...dilema. :)
ReplyDeleteI think your photography is lovely! Expecially love photos of flowers and roses! So nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Terri

ReplyDeletevisiting via Vicki's GYB Party; enjoying your blog and beautiful work of your hands and heart.
ReplyDeleteWas just searching for some blogs that might interest me, and came across yours. I previously worked as an activity director at an assisted living home. Loved that job. But am a SAHM now. Love your projects. Blessings your way!
ReplyDeleteHi Joan! Wonderful needlework and flowers! So nice to see when we up here in Canada are under a heavy layer of snow! I am your newest Follower; thanks to Vicki, I am so glad to have found your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding my blog and leaving a comment. I sometimes do a little simple sewing. Your projects are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJoan, you have very beautiful handwork. It will be fun to visit and view more. I volunteer at the local hospital full-term care facility where my Mother and her husband, my step-Dad, both were and died there, too. We all (even the grandchildren) helped there. It is a worthwhile cause. I commend you for your gift to help them. Please stop by if you haven't already and sign up for my giveaway. (I'm tardy because my motherboard died and went to the grave!) But, I have a replacement now! Hugs from Alaska. Karen
